TURNED AROUND

I don’t do mornings well,
I guess I’m not alone,
Many people miss the birds
Chirping in the morn.
I nuke my cup of coffee
And try to come awake,
But it is nearly noon…
And time for my first break.
The stars come out at night,
I see the sky’s full moon,
While those who are asleep
Miss this awesome sight.
The quietness brings peace,
For many are asleep,
But not I, no not I,
I’m still not counting sheep.
The moon, it fades,
The sun, it peaks,
And I still not in bed…
I have too many thoughts,
Running through my head.
