THE PRESENCE

I huddled deep beneath my wraps,
Blankets covering up my ears.
The anger raged, nowhere to hide,
I lay there drowning in my tears.
Night wore on, my heart despairing,
Remaining years, I’d give for peace.
My mind was screaming, where is God?
Why won’t He make this raging cease?
Caught between my mixed emotions,
Ones of love, of hate, of great despair,
My heart and soul seemed spoken to…
I felt a presence in the air.
