MENDER OF BROKEN HEARTS

So cold the ground with dampened leaves
That chills the body lying there.
The stars, they shine, they give their light
Upon the soul found in despair.

When God says stand, you are my child,
And I will guide you through the storm,
The shattered body on the ground
Rises and stumbles in broken form.

I will not leave you; I will be there,
My child, learn to lean on me,
My comfort I will give to you,
I’ll bless in ways that you don’t see.

So cold the ground but colder still
Is the world her eyes have seen.
How does she learn to trust and lean
Upon a God that is unseen?

Take my hand and follow me,
And one day I’ll help you see,
These sorrows now won’t always be,
They’ll all be gone when you see me.

The broken form is broken still,
But God is standing with the glue.
One day I know, her heart, he’ll mend
And know he’ll do the same for you.
