SYMPHONY OF HEART STRINGS
Lyrics sung with great joy, do you hear them,
The singing of hearts filled with love,
Passion flowing from hearts of some poets…
Can you hear the strumming of hearts?
More often I hear violins…
Played mournfully ‘cross land and sea,
No joy do I hear in the music…
Could the sounds be coming from me?
Listen close, kindred hearts, can you hear it,
Dripping sounds of blood on the page,
Cries coming from poets found broken…
Kindred hearts, listen close, can you hear it?
Lonely hearts penning words from within…
From inkwells turned red from life’s cuts,
Can you hear, kindred hearts, can you hear it…
Sorrow falling from off of the pen?
Life chiseling away at the mind,
Can you hear the snapping of strings?
Listen close, kindred hearts… do you hear it…
Poets crying in sad harmony?
Life strumming the heartstrings of poets,
Reaching hearts of harmonic length…
Do you hear, kindred hearts, do you hear it…
Pens bleeding the cries from the heart?
