TAILOR OF BROKEN HEARTS

If I owned a needle
That could mend a broken heart,
I think I’d be a millionaire
And be one from the start.
I would see them stretch for miles
And come from everywhere.
I’d be the tailor of the year
And the one most rare.
My thread would be the color red
To mend the heart that bleeds,
And gently I would make the mend
Until the pain recedes.
I’d make the needle from a thorn
Upon a rose of red,
And from the petals make the thread
To mend the heart that bled.
My own would stay unbroken
So that I could work my art…
If I only owned a needle
That could mend a broken heart.
