RAINBOWS IN THE RAIN

When only darkened skies I see,

I beg for God to come to me,

But in these times, I cannot see,

My God is standing close by me.

I cannot feel His loving arms,

My heart can’t hear His soothing words,

I search for something standing near,

My sight is blocked, to pain adhere.

I hold on fast and don’t let go,

Though hands are open to receive.

I cannot lay it at the cross,

So sorrow, in me, will not leave.

The darkened skies, they heavy lay,

Upon my heart, renders’ decay.

I hold on fast to pain in me,

My blessed Lord, I cannot see.

Force open hands on me that clutch,

Cut deep the heart that harbors pain,

Pour out your blessings ‘til I see,

The rainbow shining in the rain.
