We plead, we beg, we cry,
We ask the question why.
God answers along the
way,
But not always the way we
pray.
We make promises we won’t
keep,
We seek answers much too
deep.
We question the length it
takes
To answer each prayer, we
make.
We think if we make him
deals,
Our prayers will have
more appeal.
His time and ways are
best,
As many will attest.
One thousand years, a day
to him,
So, hang tight at the end
of that limb.
He will answer in his own
time,
But sorry to say, not in
yours or mine.
