LIFE’S WALTZ
I strain to hear the music,
Heart seeks a second glance,
But the waltz has ceased playing
And my feet no longer dance.
The thief of time came calling,
Stood steadfast outside my door.
I tried to ignore it there,
For I knew what was in store.
Soon it took my youthful steps
And removed my will to dream.
Worst of all, within my eyes,
Seen absent is its gleam.
I strain to hear the music,
Heart seeks a second glance,
But the waltz has ceased playing
And my feet no longer dance.
