REMEMBER THE GOOD
It's true, some days I wear a frown,
But when I'm gone, please you forget.
Remember only that I smiled,
Forget the days you saw me fret.
When my body's beneath the ground,
Will you place flowers on my stone,
Remember me as loving you,
When one day...I am lying prone?
The days I failed; will you forgive...
Remember times I did for you,
The days I caused your tears to fall,
Will your memory always view?
What of my life in death remain
To keep me close within your heart...
Or will your heart be free of me...
The day death's bed rips us apart?
Will memory keep me alive,
Or will I cease when blood grows cold?
The days I laughed; will they remain
As treasure for your heart to hold?
I will not stay upon the earth,
For home is far away from here,
Where streets are lined with precious gold
And never found will be a tear.
Hold in your heart the best of me,
Let go the times in which I failed,
Remember me as loving you
When final breath I have inhaled.
