THE WINTER OF YOUR SOUL
In the darkness of your soul,
When all within is cold,
And is found the deaden ground
That renders life so old.
Can you find the winter rose
Within the soul that grows?
One that’s found amongst the thorn;
The one that’s deeply sown?
Can you find the will to grasp
Secrets the soul beholds
That the winter freeze will melt
As spring within unfolds.
Can you find the Inner Light
To see the winter rose?
Do you reach inside to find,
The bloom within that grows?
Will you chance the thorns to prick
The heart that you see bleeds,
To find the rose that’s lost within,
The one you see recedes?
Be bold to warm the winter snows,
Reach deep to find the spring
That lies beneath the sting of thorn
And winter roses bring.
