LIFE’S HILLS AND VALLEYS

Don’t sit complacent atop the mountain,
Beware of the valley that sits down below,
For no one I know has ever stayed up there,
Without knowing also the valleys so low.

Today you walk amidst fields of daisies,
With warmth of sunshine on your face;
Tomorrow you may face pouring rains
And find that weeds have taken their place.

When you think you’re right with God,
That’s when Satan pays you a call,
He can knock you off the mountain
Faster than a curtain call.

The walk through life is seldom smooth,
But paved instead with jagged stone,
As you walk, take God with you,
Don’t walk the path of God alone.

For life is filled with hills and valleys,
So be prepared, don’t forget your shoes,
Don’t sit complacent atop the mountain,
If your footsteps you don’t want to lose.
