A VALLEY WALKER

When my time on earth is through
And I lay beneath the clover,
I hope that they can say of me…
She was a valley walker.
When tears I shed, she held my hand
And offered me her shoulder;
She stayed by me while others ran…
She was a valley walker.
When I hurt, then she hurt, too,
And raised me up in prayer;
Through my darkness stayed by me…
She was a valley walker.
When time has come to carve my stone
And words placed on my marker…
Here lies a one with empathy…
She was a valley walker.
