A long gown of emerald
green,
Her hair resting on her
shoulders,
Life’s cup filled to brim
with bitters.
She watched him
dance…while she unseen…
The gal no longer on the
screen.
Shattered heart in
darkened chambers
Watched her night turn
into cinders…
Sitting alone now sat the
queen.
A faded rose with petals
gone,
Now wore a look this
slight had drawn.
More handsome then he
looked in years,
She watched him dance but
not with her,
With heart that quickly
filled with tears,
She tried to see through
eyes of blur.
