ALONE IN A CROWD

Alone, among many...most walk...
And tears locked inside are not seen,
We look at their face, but don't see...
A life that would fill the big screen.

Do you have a story, my friend?
Would I understand if you told?
Would I draw you close by my side...
Or turn away eyes with heart cold?

The sounds all around us, we hear...
We look into eyes, but don't see,
In forests that shadow the sun...
So deep... most can't see the tree.

In blindness... I'm also seen walk,
I pray God forgives' me this sin...
For I walk alone through the crowds...
And often I'm gazing within.

The clatter of breaking hearts ring
And heaven, alone, found with ears...
Oh, God, please forgive me this slight...
I often don't see there are tears.
