WINTER’S BEAUTY

Seen on a child's cheeks of red,
And heard in laughter `midst the play,
As hills are scaled with new found glee
And giggling heard upon the sleigh.

Snowmen with jolly bellies round
Hold corncob pipes in mouths of stone,
I see them at each house with kids
And know that joy within is known.

We see it in the crystal trees,
And ground that's covered in the white,
Like diamonds twinkling in the snow,
Makes everything in life seem bright.

I hear the quiet heard in air,
As hibernation takes effect,
And peacefulness is felt within
As if with nature I connect.

Fires crackling in the hearths,
Lovers cuddling warm and snug,
We see this scene as snowflakes fall
And kittens sleep upon a rug.

A frame of mind that hears birds sing,
When none are seen or heard in air,
For it's the season laughter's heard,
And love seems greatest everywhere.
