MY ONE TRUE LOVE - MY VALENTINE

My love pursued me;
While still in my sins, he pursued me.
He knew me, and still he loved me.
I ran from him, never slowing, never ceasing.
He knocked and knocked … he called,
But time after time … I ignored.

“I love you with an everlasting love,”
(God’s Valentine message to me) –
But I was blind and could not see – I could not hear.
“I stand at your door and knock;”
I would not open - the door to my heart stayed locked.
Why didn’t he give up?

“I suffered for you, I died for you,
I paid the debt that you owe.
Believe in me, trust in me,
Through me you will have life.
I love you - before you were born, I knew you -
Won’t you be my bride? Won’t you be my valentine?”

One day my eyes sprung open, and I began to see.
I heard his voice – I heard my true love calling me –
My Jesus, my Savior, my sweet valentine.
He cleansed me from my sin – he saved me;
Now I am forever his, and he is mine.
