I try to think and write uplifting,
But find that sadness fills my heart,
If only I’d not hurt for others,
I could keep their life and mine apart.
But it’s not so, my heart it aches,
I cry for others tears
And I can’t turn away my face
And dislodge my own from theirs.
I cry for others tears
And I can’t turn away my face
And dislodge my own from theirs.
This earthly sorrow that I see,
Is this the reason Christ was sent?
Did the Father see the things I do…
This world in vast torment?
Is this the reason Christ was sent?
Did the Father see the things I do…
This world in vast torment?
I ask the Father, why create,
Mankind you knew would fall,
But then I think, it’s not my place,
To ask this thing at all.
Mankind you knew would fall,
But then I think, it’s not my place,
To ask this thing at all.
I could cut myself off from the world,
Would then my heart find ease?
My eyes not see the sorrow there,
This sin filled worlds’ disease.
Would then my heart find ease?
My eyes not see the sorrow there,
This sin filled worlds’ disease.
My heart won’t harden and eyes won’t turn,
Away from what I see,
And so I live with other’s pain…
And sorrow’s found in me.
Away from what I see,
And so I live with other’s pain…
And sorrow’s found in me.
