LIFE’S WORTH

We needn’t ask the reason why,
The first word spoken is a cry.
Born to tears from day of birth,
And searching for what life is worth.

A smile found between the tears,
And warmth of heart when love appears.
Joy is found in little things
And through a child, laughter brings.

It matters not the tears at birth,
For in their flow, show not life’s worth,
We find its value amidst the tears,
We shed through life, enduring years.

Its value lost in present tense,
When life is hard and makes no sense,
But then we see when death draws forth…
Through clearer eyes...we see life’s worth.
