DREAM ASHES
A frightened feel is deep inside…
For I dare chance to dream again,
And when another one has failed…
I wonder what will happen then?
No more room to hold their ashes…
The mind I find’s already filled.
It may be best to let them die…
And not allow pipedreams to build.
Years I spent gazing at rainbows,
Hooking my dreams on yonder stars,
Until the day I said, “No more”…
For broken dreams, they leave their scars.
But now I dare to dream again…
To risk another shattered dream,
And when it crashes… not a sound…
For dreams, aflame, don’t have a scream.
