ROAD TRIP THROUGH LIFE

Somewhere between laughter and tears,
I left a part of me,
The cost of living live it seems…
The road trip wasn’t free.

Fragments remain within myself,
A glimpse of yesterday,
Remaining parts of me still caught
Within life’s bale of hay.

Of laughter and tears, where were more?
I think you may have guess,
But the search for gales of laughter
Remains a lifetime quest.

The price of tears is stolen mirth
And lines carved in the face,
But, between the laughter and tears,
Is found a little lace.

A treasury of happiness,
Placed in a box secure,
Helps to keep the fragments glowing…
On this, one lifetime, tour.
