MY HEAVENLY HOME

One day my Lord will take me home,
His loving face I’ll see,
A home where tears are never shed…
Where sorrow’s found no more.

It is a place where angels sing
And loved ones talk of old,
Where every face is lit with smiles…
No wet upon the cheeks.

In peace, I’ll live eternity,
And bask in holy light,
My eyes will rest upon the Lord…
You’ll see no tear in eye.

But that someday is not today,
I cannot see His face,
And I must trust that He is there…
Must trust that God is near.

Through this winding, valley of tears,
I know He holds my hand,
I know God walks the way with me…
He leaves me not alone.

This earth is walked heavy of heart,
For much brings tear to eye,
And yet though many tears will fall…
I’ll cry for just a day.

For come a time when eyes will dry,
No sorrow found in heart,
Through God’s green pastures I will walk…
A smile upon my face.

I’ll see my loved ones gone beyond,
All standing in the light,
The tunnel lead to where they are…
My mansion waiting there.

One day my Lord will take me home,
His loving face I’ll see,
A home where tears are never shed…
Where sorrow’s found no more.
