TOO LONG TO CRY

Don't you travel back in time,
To that place called yesterday,
If you fail back there to linger
On the times that brought a smile.
If you travel back to darkness,
Stay until it brings you tears,
You'll blacken out the sunshine
Seen in your sky today.
It seems the mind won't linger
On the times that bring us mirth,
It travels back in memory
To the days that shred the heart.
No road is ever traveled
That's bereft of any sun,
Be wise on where eyes focus...
Look at sky, and not on stones.
When mind goes its own way,
Travels roads that cut and bleed,
Just linger for a moment...
Don't you stay too long to cry.
